Ronald E. Bean

A watercolor painter of romantic realism, mostly landscapes; a purist, using only transparent color.

An Iowa native and graduate of Grinnell College, Mr. Bean was an art director at Chicago advertising agencies and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Academy of Art.

After retiring to Carmel Valley, California, he devoted his time to his art and studied watercolor with Rex Brandt, Dong Kingman, and Frank Webb.

A lifelong artist, Mr. Bean painted the midwest, south, and west coast of the US, Mexico, and Europe.
